Do you tuck in your inside elbow or spread it out like a wing?

What are your thoughts on a "tucked(closer to tank)" inside elbow compared to an "out(down)" pointing elbow in regards to the inside arm. I always rode with my elbow out, not straight out so both elbows create a horizontal line, but perhaps halfway between the hip and shoulder.
